Muscle Cars - 1978 Camaro Z28 Home Grown Beater
It is a 1978 Camaro Z28 That cost me $1500, I probebly overpayed $500, but I was 14 years old and did not know better. It did not drive at teh time but it looked good and I knew it had potential.
Today with good help of a friend and lots of free parts my Camaro Z28 is turning into a very nice car. It has a four bolt 350 c.i. engine with 400 heads, cam with .570/.580 and 312 degrees of duration, Edelbrock performer aluminum intake, and a Holley 4150 700cfm carburetor.
The front suspension also has been moded, with adjustable springs and shocks, tubular upper contol arms, and boxed in lowers. The Camaro Z28 is being set up for Lime Rock park.
It also is going to have a Hurst auto shifter for the stock TH350 behind the 350 c.i. engine.
I hope to start customizing the interior soon, right after my friend and I weld in patch panels and floor boards. Then paint, and the ZZ06 rims I am getting for free.
I am so excited becasue this will be the first year I have ever driven my 1978 Camaro Z28 since I bought it four years ago.
