Muscle Cars: 1969 Dodge Dart by Joe Ort Racing

It is a 1969 Dodge Dart 2 door hardtop with a 400 cubic inch low deck stroked to 500 cubic inches with 13.5 compression Brodix B1-BS heads with max wedge porting. My 1969 Dodge Dart has a 727 transmission with an ATI 9" billet converter 4500 stall with ATI drums and planetarys with a AA reverse manual valve body with a AA transbrake.

The rear end of my 1969 Dodge Dart a Ford 9 inch backbraced with 4.11 gears and a spool with Moser axels, with Coni coil over rear suspension. We haven't got the car to the track yet. We figure the motor makes around 850 hp and we are gonna throttle stop it with the secondaries to run consistent 10.0 at around 135 mph for bracket racing. I'm sure we'll put her in the 9's a couple times just to say we can and did.

We bought the 1969 Dodge Dart last June and it needed a lot of work, it had a 446 big block in it with a nitrous system and ran 9.40 at 140 mph. The previous owner used the car for "Pro Street" type racing so it has 4 inch Flow Master exhaust. He went racing one night and wrung off the wheel studs and tore the fender all up so that was fix number one. We had a friend of ours that owns a body shop do it for us. We bought it because my dad and I had the bug again for a race car and we're serious gear heads.

We aren't in any clubs or race teams and we have not taken this car to any shows but we take the street dart to many of the local shows.
