Ford never intended the Boss
Ford never intended the Boss 429 as a street dominator, or as any kind of drag-racing threat. This gap between expectation and intent dimmed the glow of an extraordinary car.The 429 related Super speedway prosper high revolutions - bad news for the acceleration from stand still. Furthermore, the first group had incorrect valve springs and stopped at 4500 rpm winding not correct 6000. Even with the hop-up that link Hurst, draw bars, high performance camera, and carbohydrates re-jetted, performance cars under another specialty quarter mile big block. see more auto repair manuals for info.
