Muscle Cars: 1967 Mustang Hardtop by Craig Borden
It is a 1967 Hardtop Mustang with a 1970 429. It has a Lincoln Versailes 9" rear axle and 4 wheel disc brakes. I currently have a C6 auto trans but hope to upgrade that to a 5 speed soon.
I haven't had it on a track but it has had a few little modifications. The 429 being one of the first. I have some Shelby/Eleanor body mods too. It has Granada front spindles, aluminum driveshaft, custom console and gauges in the dash.
Most of the work I did myself, my wife re-did the seats and headliner. My boys have helped a lot too. I've been working on it since 1990 and it's still not done! I did have a shop paint it.
I got it in 1990, I traded it and received some money for my 1st car which was also a 67 Mustang that I got it in Northern Illinois (rust belt).
The 1967 Hardtop Mustang with a 1970 429 is special to me because, I guess the fact that I have had it so long and never gave up on it. I started it with the intention of haveing it done in a couple years but a lot of things changed and it took a back seat for a while. To me it's a continuation of my 1st car that I swapped so I could buy a house.

the car
dude you need to send a picture to the company so that we can see your car just like my charger.
How hard is it to put a 429
How hard is it to put a 429 into a 67 mustang. I am thinking of doing it to mine.
hey hows it going
its your nephew
How did that 429 fit?
I'm also curious what it took to fit that 429 in a 67-68 body style. I'm guessing the block itself maybe wasn't a huge deal, but the headers or exhaust manifolds must have been a challenge. The 390 FE blocks barely fit in there with the exhaust manifold bolts only about 1/2" away from the shock tower.
Also, what motor mounts did you use? Were they custom or does someone make them for the 429 swap?
Thanks!
nice nice!
definitely a nice car, but I was also hoping for some pics of the ride... with some pics of the parts (alternator) and more...
