HELP! Fox Body Mustang 5.0 engine swap into a 65 Ford Ranchero...HELP!
I have recently acquired a 1965 Ford Ranchero with a great body and all together that has been sitting in a garage for 20 years. The guy who owns it is an older guy who I help out alot and he gave me the car. Even though the body and inteiror are overall in great shape and it's rust free the motor and tranny are another issue. The motor is a six banger that has a cracked head. I have been considering a few different motor tranny options but ultimately money and time are a huge factor. This isn't a project car I need to be able to drive it and move it around. I was considering using a 1989 fox body mustang gt 5.0 that I have access to that is cheap and running. Does anyone know exactly what I'll need to take that motor and tranny from the mustang in order to put it in the Ranchero in the quickest and cheapest way?
Will it just drop in with the correct motor mounts?
Can those motor mounts for the newer 5.0 be adapted for the Ranchero?
Will I have issues with the tranny? The Ranchero is auto and I was planning on using an auto from the mustang.
Does anyone know of any clearance issues due to headers or anything else?
Can you think of any other problems or issues I'd have with this kind of swap?
I'm not a ford guy. I've never owned or worked on a ford. I know plenty about Chevy and tons about mopar but not ford. I'm excited about getting this Ranchero because you don't see too many of them and it's so clean. I'd appreciate any help you all can give me.

Looks like a great project to have fusing some mustang auto parts into a ford ranchero. Every car have it's potential as long that you have the right parts and tools to bring back its shine. The truck is really rare hope you can upload some pics on the progress of your rebuild.
