Acceleration Problems

i've got this problem on my 80 camaro
that when i accelerate hard the engine starts to choke
and i need to lift off then back hard on the throtle
and when it gets pas 4500 rpm it does the same thing and the
exhaust sounds like its farting
any ideas what could this be and how to fix it???
BTW the engine is a 350
has edelbrock performer intake manifold
holley 650 carb and a lunatti thumper cam
