Carolina Camaro Association Newsletter April 2007
April 2007
Dear Carolina Camaro Association Members,
The 2007 show and cruise season is quickly accelerating. Last month, the club participated in both the Mooresville Cruise-In and the Carolina Motor Madness show in Fort Mill. A good time was by all. Pictures are posted on the website. Please review the 2007 calendar of club events nearby and on the website. Two marquee events are coming up that you will not want to miss.
First, AutoFair is April 14th and 15th at Lowes Motor Speedway. This is always a great event so make plans to attend today and enjoy a weekend of fellowship, cars and fun. Contact Steve Marsfelder at (704) 564-0341 to reserve your spot. Let’s have a record club turnout this year.
Second, on May 5th we’ll cruise the countryside and towns from Mooresville to Huntersville, NC. We’ll stop at Dale Earnhardt, Inc. along the way and wrap up with lunch at NorthStone Country Club. At NorthStone, we’ll enjoy reserved parking for club cars in front of the golf course and seating on the balcony with a view of the cars and golf course. Be sure to bring your camera. The cruise will start promptly at 1:30PM at the Wachovia Bank at 153 North Main Street, Mooresville, NC 28115. Reservations are required for lunch. Please e-mail or call me at mpotuzak@bellsouth.net or (704) 948-1528 by April 30th with the number attending. NorthStone requires a collared shirt and does not allow jeans. The rain date is May 12th. Registered participants will be notified the morning of the event if postponement is necessary.
I’d like to welcome our newest member, Steven Williams, from Concord, NC. Steven has a 1968 Camaro with a 383 and a 671 blower. It’s teal with white stripes. Welcome Steven.
Just a reminder, 2007 membership dues ($20) are long over due if you’ve not yet paid. Dues must be received by April 30th to remain a member and receive the next newsletter. Checks, made payable to Carolina Camaro Association, may be sent to Rodney Battaile, Treasurer, 11939 Mallard Ridge Drive, Charlotte, NC 28269.
I’d like to thank Shannon DeGroat, Randy Rush, Margie Lutz and Bob Stephens for their work on behalf of our club. They arranged for new club business cards, a new club banner, an order for club jackets and an order for award plaques, respectively. Thanks one and all.
Good news. At the last meeting we discussed North Carolina Senate Bill 673 which would require front license plates for cars. The bill, which was sponsored by State Senator Janet Cowell, was withdrawn. Apparently the cost of implementation exceeded the perceived public safety benefits.
Our next club meeting is Thursday, April 19th at 7PM at Sonny Hancock Chevrolet, I-85 Exit 22, Lowell, NC. Among other things, we’ll debrief last year’s Christmas Cruise for Kids show at Hendrick Motorsports.
In closing, I’d like to thank the members of our military for their dedicated service. Their sacrifice makes possible the many freedoms we enjoy including the right to enjoy this uniquely American hobby.
